Roles and Responsibilities:

Understand public health communication strategy, including the ability to synthesize and distill information into key points, prepare and execute communication plans for the promotion and distribution of CDC tools, and review website metrics/data to determine reach of the implementation of the communication strategies.

Able to adapt/edit content for use in short-form media for public distribution, such as social media, the web, text/chat messaging campaigns, mobile applications, and/or email newsletters.

Experience with managing a large-scale content effort to improve the organization, clearance process, accuracy of content, and maintenance of information by serving as a leader of a project (i.e., Ask CDC) that promotes CDC-INFO and disseminates critical content.

Work with the CDC-INFO content team and assist with content development, review, and maintenance of all forms and types of prepared responses and announcements.

Able to provide help with written materials and images, such as PDF conversion, detailed editing of pre-prepared written materials, including prepared responses and CDC announcements, while preserving original meaning.

Use, evaluate, and help others adapt to a mobile Content Management System (CMS) by coordinating meetings, engaging in discussions to improve content management, and by working with IT staff to ensure the creation and completion of requirements that support improvements to CMS and overall content management.

Assist with stakeholder engagement plans, discussions, and documentation.

Coordinate meetings, create and manage documentation for a project (i.e., Ask CDC) or for CDC information dissemination of tools or messages.

Good interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, be flexible with time and tasks, work independently, problem solve, think critically, and the ability to work well on a team and serve as a team player and representative of the team to other CDC programs.

Assist with other communication tasks that arise in support of the mission of CDC-INFO, such as reviewing how content is used by the contact center through listening to call recordings and performing mystery calls.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Information Systems or related field with a minimum of3 years of experience.

3 years of experience and skills using Microsoft tools including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Excellent written skills and the ability to develop and guide team members in producing quality deliverables.

Ability to understand the synergy between technology and business processes.

Excellent ability to balance and manage multiple work requests.

Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

.Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

Public Health or HHS background.

Prior CDC Experience preferred.

Experience with managing projects and content for government or large nonprofit organizations.

Experience with CMS (content management systems), including learning new CMS and strategizing recommendations for system improvement.

Experience with communication projects and preparing messaging for a variety of channels.

Familiarity with or experience in public health, health, communication, medicine or CDC infrastructure and processes.
