The Undersea Systems business unit located in Annapolis, MD is seeking dependable individuals willing to work in a collaborative environment and that are interested in expanding their horizons. The Systems Engineering department needs a front line Supervisor with strong focus on Systems Architecture and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to lead the Systems Architecture group. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring, coordinating personnel career development and training, workload forecasting, implementation of systems engineering process improvement initiatives, performance appraisals, merit planning, estimating and proposal development, budget and schedule development, and technical reviews. In addition, we are looking for someone that will provide technical leadership to his/her group and work to drive sound systems engineering on programs. Interfacing with Government Representatives and other contractors in the performance of their daily duties, is anticipated. Experience with underwater/naval systems such as Torpedo's, Towed Vehicles, Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV), Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Acoustic Comms, Sonar Systems, Interfacing with Submarines, etc. is encouraged as duties will also include performing on undersea systems programs.
BS in engineering, computer science or related field and 8 years experience; equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within diverse team.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams as a functional manager, program manager, Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead, and/or other significant leadership role.
Demonstrated ability to lead and perform system engineering activities including system architecture, develop verifiable requirements, system design, or integration and test activities.
Must possess an active Secret clearance and be willing to obtain a Top Secret clearance and to submit to a polygraph examination.
Advanced degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
Demonstrated experience with systems engineering, integration and test is desirable.
Demonstrated experience with common SE tools (Risk Tools, Requirements Tools, I&T Tools/Equipment, NG Internal tools - ISE/Talent+/Concur) is desirable.
Demonstrated experience with the following is highly desirable:
Integration and test of UUVs, torpedoes, pressure vessels, ROVs, launch/recovery, payloads for platforms, SONAR arrays, etc. or
Architecture of naval, sonar, and navigation missions; and the associated Model Based Systems Engineering tools.
A current DoD Top Secret/SCI and willingness to obtain a SSBI with polygraph.
