Northrop Grumman Engineering Program Manager 2 in Annapolis, Maryland
Northrop Grumman Mission systems is seeking a Engineering Program Manager 2. Applicant will lead a large engineering team with overall authority, responsibility and accountability for the end to end technical performance for a large undersea Program.
Position requires a multi-disciplined knowledge base in all areas related to engineering design of complex undersea work systems including systems, structures, electronics, software and controls, hydraulics and mechanisms. Applicant should have strong background in engineering design including tools, processes and procedures used over the complete product design life cycle, from design and development through fielding and sustainment. The applicant should also be familiar with the Navy (NAVSEA, NAVAIR, or equivalent) design requirements as they relate to various undersea programs.
Applicant will establish engineering milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules. Applicant will forecast the engineering staffing requirements and work with the Engineering Homerooms to secure the appropriate staff for program execution. Applicant will lead and report progress for: requirements documentation and stability, technical risk management, key system performance parameters, drawing completion vs plan, lessons learned, and cost and schedule performance (EVMS) for all engineering tasks.
Applicant will serve as primary customer contact for program technical activities, supporting PM in program reviews with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Applicant will aid in development of new business and/or product line expansion, and will support preparation of technical proposals.
Minimum Education / Experience: 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 5 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within diverse team.
Demonstrated experience leading high performance teams.
Demonstrated experience in writing successful competitive proposals.
A current DoD Top Secret/SCI, SSBI with active polygraph is required.
US Citizenship is required.
Some travel required.
Advanced degree in engineering.
Experience with design development for Special Defense maritime domain and technologies.
Experience with Navy (NAVSEA, NAVAIR, or equivalent) operations for Special Defense maritime domain and technologies.
