Northrop Grumman Manager, Subcontract Programs 2 in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

The Undersea Systems business unit is the center of excellence for complex, netted, unmanned systems and solutions across the maritime environment. The business unit is seeking candidates for Program Subcontracts Manager for theSierra programswithin the Special Defense Operating Unit (SBU). The selected candidate will be assigned a leadership role on theATLAS Program, responsible for major subcontractors or major subcontracted systems. Responsibilities include: Directs and manages all cost, schedule and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or the product family and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones of the system. Acts as the main focal point to the subcontractor; briefs executive management and customer on the status and issues affecting performance or cost; and conducts program reviews with the subcontractor and program office. Responsible for and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make or buy decisions through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, and cost accountability. Makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor. Establishes milestone objectives and manages performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications. Leads team composed of engineers, quality and procurement personnel.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline plus 10 years of relevant complex system design/integration experience; Masters and 8+ years experience.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance prior to commencing employment.

  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Prior experience in Program Management and/or Engineering and/or Operations Program Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Advanced Payload and Sierra technologies

  • 5-8 years experience in project leadership/ management
